Regional Manager for Auckland East
ANZ New Zealand

East Auckland is one of ANZ’s biggest northern regions – 16 branches, 20 Branch and Assistant Managers, and indirect staff of 130.

The woman responsible for ensuring this network runs smoothly, efficiently, happily and delivers the best to the bank’s customers every day, is Fiji-born Padmani Vikash.

It’s a big job that requires deep knowledge of banking, great people skills and deft management of work and life.

Padmani has been with the ANZ group for over two decades, starting out with ANZ Fiji where she worked for 13 years. Moving to New Zealand in 2003, she re-established ties with the bank. She was appointed Regional Manager last year.

Top Achiever

She has won the bank’s Top Achiever award for seven consecutive years, including a top 100 Global Award by the CEO in 2008.

She regularly visits all her “stores” to make sure they look great, function effectively and are welcoming to customers.

She is proud that “ANZ has introduced key initiatives such as the Plus One Pledge to ensure we have a 50:50 ratio on our talent and leadership programmes, along with flexible working arrangements and is committed to helping women reach their full leadership potential.”

Empowering women to be the best that they can be in their career and life will inspire the next generation of women. “Women have the ability to influence people around them in such a positive way.”

Her message to women struggling to balance work and family is to “be present and focus on what is in front of you. Don’t feel guilty about enjoying your work – your kids are getting a great role model in shaping their future happiness.”
