Every mile of every journey brings surprises. Every turn of one’s journey has new adventures and new stories, waiting to unveil themselves to the traveller.
In the last week of January, I got a pleasant New Year’s gift – an opportunity to have series of outdoor exhibitions at one of the most sought after spaces, The Civic Square, Hamilton.
I have named it ‘Kaleidoscope,’ the first exhibition of its kind, showcasing the varied colours of life and nature, as captured by the eyes of a photographer, and more essentially, a traveller.
Varied genres
It is a collection of various images, across varied genres that display a range of visuals, where every photograph has a story to tell. Shot over the years with almost four decades of memories, ‘Kaleidoscope’ would be the first such compilation of my works.
The exhibition is being organised in association with the Hamilton City Council and Creative Waikato, two of the most revered organisations in Waikato, known for the creative contribution towards the field of arts.
‘Kaleidoscope’ would portray a collection of photographs, highlighting Photography as an art form, which has more to it than just owning a good camera and creating visually stunning photographs. Through a single well-thought photograph of a passionate lover of this art form, one can discover the photographer’s life, his thoughts, ideas and beliefs.
Creative Commune
Presently, I am in the process of spreading the idea of ‘Creative Commune,’ where participants share their knowledge selflessly and in turn create a pool of knowledge and experience for all photography and creative enthusiasts.
I believe in ‘teaching by demonstration and learning by observation.’
This is a new thought of collective approach towards a big goal of sharing knowledge and experience towards widespread learning.
I have been spreading the idea for the last five years through various talks and workshops and through demonstrations. I am happy that fellow creative friends were also looking forward to such an initiative.
The Exhibition in Hamilton is a free, outdoor event, where people from all walks of life can have a feel of this form of art.
I would appreciate support from all friends and well-wishers to support the event.
Here is an Invitation to all Indian Newslink readers and friends along with few images, which I will showcase during my Creative Photography Exhibition.
