Our Business Awards Judges spell integrity and independence

Chip Dawson

The Indian Newslink Business Awards Programme continues to select the highest level of judges for the detailed evaluation of entries.

The judges have been in private practice or businesses throughout New Zealand for many years and have dedicated their time and skills to the South Asian communities.

Many Judges have been involved for over 12 years with the Indian Newslink Business Awards and continue to respect the principles and integrity of these awards with confidentiality, honesty, and precision.

Nevil Gibson

Past Editor-in-Chief of the National Business Review )NBR), Nevil Gibson is an independent consultant with a huge history in journalism and extensive experience in global politics, economics, and history; our cornerstone advisor for the Awards since their inception in 2008.

Fiona Rotherham

Presently Senior Journalist at the NBR,  Fiona Rotherham is the past Head of Business News at Fairfax Media and Past Editor of Unlimited Magazine.

Sue Ironside

A Senior Lawyer and Director at IP Law Firm Ironside McDonald, Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, Sure Ironside has more than 28 years of experience in Commercial and Intellectual Property Law. She assists clients with all aspects of trademark and branding and brings a wealth of knowledge to her clients ensuring that they achieve their goals.

Sandra Sweetman

Sandra Sweetman is a former General Manager of Operations at EasiYo Yogurt. She is an Independent Advisor to the Auckland Business Chamber and does volunteer work for the New Zealand Police.

Paul Gestro

A Senior Director of ASB Access, Paul Gestro is on the Advisory Committee for the World Economic Forum and has been an international consultant for many years. He has been through the Harvard Business School Leadership Programme.

Paul works to design, deliver and lead a unique programme to accelerate the export growth of established high-potential food and fibre businesses, through access to debt capital alongside advice, connections and expertise. The programme will support food and fibre exporters that are at a critical scale-up phase, taking a broader approach to lending, beyond traditional thinking and measures of risk and returns.

Clinton Swan

Clinton Swan is a Business Development and Marketing Director based in Singapore. He was earlier an Executive at Clyde & Co., an international law firm across the Middle East and Asia/Indo-Pacific regions. Clinton is our New Zealand Global Judge with many years of experience and talent.

Editor’s Note: Chip Dawson is the Chairman of the Independent Panel of Judges of the Indian Newslink Business Awards. He has been on the Panel since it was established in 2008. Chip is the Chief Executive and Managing Director of International Business Management Limited, a global management consulting firm for more than 25 years in New Zealand. He has worked with Apple Computer Corporation, Hitachi Data Systems, Telecom New Zealand and Digital Equipment Corporation in senior management roles.
