Unity is strength and unity is important to promote our unique Tamil culture and heritage,” says Sadasivam Kutty, the newly elected President of Muthamil Sangam Auckland.
The Sangam, which has just completed 18 years of its establishment recently, held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at which Kathir Sam returned as Secretary after four years.
Among the others elected to the helm of the Sangam are Sri Swamy (Vice President),
Jayaraaman Madhavarajan (Treasurer), and Meenal Chandrakanth, Prema Jagadeesan, Ramasubramanian Narayanaraja, Sheeba Soundararajan, Subramanian Natarajan and Usha Shyam (Executive Committee)
Mr Kutty said that the Sangam is keen to encourage more women to take up official positions and that their representation in the current Committee is about 40%.
“We congratulate the outgoing Committee led by President Maninilavan Arivukkarasu and thank them for their services to the Community. Let us all work together and promote the values of Muthamil Sangam Auckland,” he said.
