Muslims in the Waikato region will be happy to welcome a new Mosque, strategically located in Hamilton.
Occupying a total area of 3000 Square Metres (including car park), the place of worship, located at 45 Bandon Street, is estimated to cost $800,000.
Owned and managed by the New Zealand Muslim League Inc, the facility will also accommodate a library, community hall, learning area for children and a kitchen.
League President Mohammed Hassan said the Mosque would be located on the top floor of the new building.
“Subject to completion of the requisite formalities, construction would commence by the end of this year,” he said.
He said the League was happy to announce the construction plan with the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan is the holiest month for Muslims, during which Almighty Allah delivered the Holy Quran to Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him). This is a Holy Book for mankind, teaching us to understand the right and the wrong,” Mr Hassan said.
