The Nadi team won the Fiji Fact 2010 Soccer Tournament at the final match held on December 5 at Bill McKinlay Park in the Auckland suburb of Panmure.
Imran Shah of the team qualified for the ‘Golden Boot.’
The eight-day event, held between November 28 and December 5, saw Rakiraki named Runners Up. The Nadroga Stallion and Combined Black were among the Semi-finalists.
New Zealand Fiji Soccer Inc organised the Tournament, which included matches between Under 17 teams. The Navua team walked away with the honours beating Labasa 2-0.
Association Secretary Jiten Lal said 20 teams participated in the Tournament, raising the hope for more teams in forthcoming similar matches.
“While we were pleased with 18 teams that entered our recently held IDC, we are now confident of increasing team participation in the ensuing tournaments,” he said.
Among the winners of other Awards were Savasavu (Team of the Tournament), Suva (Most Disciplined Team), Renal Prasad of Combined Black (Most Valuable Player) and Bobby Khan of Vatukoula (Best Manager).
