Passion for fashion chases fresh opportunities
It happens all the time- participants in beauty pageants aim to become celebrities, either as actors or models; and their passion for show business takes them far into the world.
Among the latter is Hannah Moulden, our Model of the Fortnight.
“I do not want to stop at being an international model. I want to build a brand create a business. I am passionate about all areas of modelling, the makeup, photography, modelling and the marketing side of the final photo,” she said.
A Hamilton based youngster, Hannah is fortunate to have intense support of her family, which includes her parents and three siblings.
Maternal inspiration
Her mother Sheryl, a former participant in beauty contests is also a source of inspiration. Encouraged by her experience and success, Hannah entered the ‘Miss Teen New Zealand’ contest and won the title.
“Since then I have had amazing opportunities to compete and travel to Texas, London, Fiji, Philippines and most recently China to model. I was extremely fortunate as I got to travel and model whilst I was in school, however we always made sure my grades came first,” she said.
Model of the World
Hannah considers her visit to Shenzhen, China to participate in the ‘Miss Model of the World’ as one of the finest in her experience.
“It was a month long competition held in October. The final consisted several rehearsals and training leading up to the two-hour finale. There were 62 countries that competed and the top 30 girls got to do an incredible Victoria Secrets Runway Show. I found that the competition was hard work, mentally and physically, apart from facing the challenges in a foreign country, especially when my luggage got lost. But I gained new friends and invaluable new experiences,” Hannah said.
Her most cherishing moment was being ranked among the top ten and a modelling contact coming up next year.
