New Zealand’s multicultural and multi-religious profile received another endorsement at a Buddhist Temple meeting last month.
Speakers representing the Buddhist, Sikh and Bahai communities were at the event held on June 10 at the Kadampa Buddhist Temple (205 Great South Road) in Papatoetoe, South Auckland.
The Auckland Council supported the event through Nimi Bedi, a member of its Community Development Staff.
Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board Chairperson Efeso Collins inaugurated the meeting. Among the speakers were David Chen, Director, the Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Auckland Sikh Society (Papatoetoe) Secretary Raj Bedi and Jamaliyeh Drake of the Papatoetoe Baha’i community.
