Staff Reporter –
Residents of Auckland and visitors to the City would have an opportunity to taste multi-ethnic cuisine at a food festival scheduled to be held next month.
Syro Malabar Catholic Mission is organising the event at ASB Showgrounds (Arena) on Saturday, April 9, 2016 between 11 am and 7 pm.
Project Convenor Joby Cyriac claimed that it would be a rare food fest, featuring the cuisines of India, Philippines, Samoa, New Zealand and many other countries.
“It is not just food but the young and the old will also be kept entertained with performances by members of various communities. There would be competitions with prizes,” he said.
Mr Cyriac said that the proceeds of the event will go towards the Mission’s construction project incorporating a Community Centre.
He said that the Mission would welcome donations and from groups and associations and sponsorships from commercial organisations and indivduals.
