Indian Newslink Annual Business Awards 2022
The last two years have been full of uncertainty and challenges for businesses across the World and New Zealand has not been immune to the wave of turbulence.
It was hence, a moment of great pride for the team at Indian Newslink to honour our Indian Business Owners and their indomitable spirit at the Indian Newslink Annual Business awards, held at the Trusts Arena, Auckland on the 29 November 2022.
With some of the most successful names in business and many prominent leaders of the community coming together after a long time, the attendees were left impressed by the sheer spirit of hard work and determination of the numerous businesses which created the magnitude of the event.
The evening began with the Indian Business community paying their respects to the slain Dairy worker, Janak Patel, who lost his life last week in Auckland. The message that was repeated throughout the evening was that of moving forward towards a safer environment for all businesses and communities.

The evening then saw leaders across the spectrum acknowledge the efforts of the Indian community and the contribution which has immensely enhanced the service, trade and commerce sector in New Zealand.
Some of the leaders in attendance were Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Leader of Opposition Christopher Luxon, High Commissioner of India to New Zealand Neeta Bhushan, ACT party leader David Seymour along with Brooke Van Velden, National Party Deputy leader Nicola Willis, Leader of NZ First Winston Peters, Mayor of Auckland Wayne Brown, Member of Parliament Judith Collins, CEO Auckland Business Chamber Simon Bridges, Minister of Immigration Michael Wood and many prominent members of the Indian diaspora.
The evening had some soulful performances and it was one of the rare occasions outside parliament where leaders from across the spectrum shared their views and plans on a common platform. They engaged with the Indian business owners and had conversations about moving forward, stronger and better.

It was also a unique night where the business community turned up in large numbers and showed the sheer magnitude of representation they have in New Zealand.
It was a night where winners were recognized, ethical business practice benchmarks were applauded, many upcoming businesses were encouraged for their dedication, young professionals were highlighted, many pathbreaking achievements were broadcasted and individual stories of perseverance and success were celebrated as a unified society.
