National MP Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi presented the first copy of the book, ‘A Spiritual Journey- Harmandar Sahib: The Golden Temple,’ to Prime Minister John Key at a function held at his electorate office in Helensville on October 4.
The book is stated to be a photographic journey of Roop Singh, Rupinder Khullar, Swinderpal Singh and Yogesh Kochhar, covering the Holiest Shrine of Sikhs.
It is understood that Mr Bakshi purchased copies of the book of his own account for distribution to local organisations and communities.
“It is significant that Harmandir Sahib has four doors symbolising the openness of Sikhs towards all people and religions. This symbolism fits well in New Zealand, a beautiful and multicultural country which we have made home,” Mr Bakshi said.
