When Monisha Gounder wrote to us at press time, she was preparing to leave for Mumbai to participate in the ‘Miss India Worldwide’ competition scheduled to be held in Mumbai.
“I am privileged to represent Fiji at this great event as a proud Indo-Fijian. I am excited to be on an international platform to gain better modelling skills, learn more and make new friends. It is a tremendous opportunity,” she said.
Legal pursuit
The 17-year-old Papatoetoe High School of South Auckland is looking forward to the New Year when she would enter the University to pursue law.
Modelling however holds her interest and hopes to become a professional in the industry.
She considers her family as her prime motivation.
“Everyone at home supports and encourages me to pursue my interests,” she said.
As well as modelling, Monisha enjoys dancing, sports and social gatherings.
Persistence pays
“I believe in persistence, and I do not give up any pursuit just because it appears tough. Whatever is the outcome at the Miss India Worldwide, I am confident that the experience itself will be a great teacher,” she said.
Indian Newslink wishes Monisha Gounder the best at the forthcoming event and appreciates the efforts of photographer Bhikhu Bhula in motivating the teenager to participate in the global event in India.
