In deference to the wishes of a number of readers and potential participants, we have included two new categories, namely, ‘Best Under 12 Player of the Year – Other Sports’ and ‘Best Over 12 Player of the Year – Other Sports.’ The total number of categories remains the same- 12 individual categories and the ‘Best Sportsman of the Year’ and the ‘Best Sportswoman of the Year.’ We have also simplified the entry procedure with a ‘Single Entry Form,’ common to all individual categories.
Our Independent Panel of Judges will decide the ‘Best Sportsman of the Year’ and the ‘Best Sportswoman of the Year’ from the winners of the individual categories and hence there is no direct nomination of direct entry to these two major awards.
In instituting the Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards, we hope to fill the void in this area. These Sports Awards will recognise and reward not only established players and veterans but also young aspirants.

Entry Process
Entries can be nominated by Schools, Sports Clubs, Sports Associations, Coaches, Umpires, Referees, Parents, Teaches and others well known to the recommended candidates.
Conditions of Entry:
Entries must be in electronic format sent by email. Those sent by post, fax or other means will not be accepted.
A panel of judges, independent of Indian Newslink will evaluate the entries, select the finalists and winners and announce their names at the Awards Presentation and Dinner Night to be held in May 2016, details of which will be announced in Indian Newslink (www.indiannewslink.co.nz), this website and on the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards website (www.inliba.com)
The decision of the judges would be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection. The management and staff of Indian Newslink and the supporting and sponsoring organisations are not eligible to enter the Awards.
