IBA Awards Night announced

IBA 2010 Logo 5cm.jpgThe Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (IBA) 2010 Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation Night will be held at Stamford Plaza Hotel Auckland on Monday, November 15, 2010.

Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand, Lady Satyanand, Prime Minister John Key, Trade Minister Tim Groser, Opposition Leader Phil Goff and Indian High Commissioner Retired Admiral Sureesh Mehta will be the Guests of Honour.

With the attendance of Ministers, Members of Parliament and 500 top manufacturers, entrepreneurs, traders, consultants and professionals, IBA Awards Night is among the premier events in New Zealand’s business calendar.

Stamford Plaza is making elaborate preparations converting the lobby into the function area and putting together a sumptuous ‘All-Indian Menu’ including starters.

Details relating to the event will appear in our ensuing issues.

Entries to the IBA 2010 closed on August 31 and a large number of companies are reported to have sent their entries, which will be evaluated by a panel of ten judges, headed by Ignition Partner Limited Executive Director Chad Wilkie, independent of this newspaper. The decision of the judges would be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this connection.

The names of finalists and winners will be announced at the Awards Night.

Two new categories namely, the Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the Best Businesswoman of the Year were introduced this year. Entries to these categories were either by nomination or directly by the candidates.

In addition to these two, there are nine categories in this year’s Awards Scheme.

They are Best Exporter to India Business, Best Large Business, Best Medium Business, Best Small Business, Best Professional Services Business, Best Retailer Business, Best Restaurant Business, Best Business Innovation and Best Marketing Excellence

The overall winner will qualify for the Supreme Business of the Year Award.

Companies owned, operated, managed and franchised by people of Indian origin in New Zealand were eligible to enter up to three categories in our Awards Scheme.

However, all businesses exporting their products and services were eligible to compete in the Best Exporter to India Business category.
