Gursharn Kaur, a student at Westlake Girls High School will be Member of the Youth Parliament due to be held in Wellington on July 16 and 17, 2013.
She will represent Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi, National Party’s List MP (Manukau East) at the two-day programme organised every two years to provide a chance for youngsters throughout the country to understand parliamentary procedures, debate on issues affecting New Zealanders and feel the weight of being lawmakers.
Mr Bakshi said that he was impressed by the young woman’s awareness of community matters and her interest in politics.
