New Zealand’s largest private healthcare provider East Tamaki Health Care (ETHC) was the most successful entrant at the Westpac South Auckland Business Awards 2011.
The Company won ‘Business of the Year Supreme Award,’ in addition to securing top honours in two categories namely ‘Excellence in Innovation and Strategy’ and ‘Excellence in Service Delivery.’
Auckland Mayor Len Brown was the Chief Guest at the Awards Night ceremony held at the Telstra Clear Events Centre on August 12.
ETHC Founder & Chief Executive Dr Kanti Patel dedicated the Awards to the staff of the Company, saying that he was proud of their diligence and hard work.
“From a corporate business perspective, we take pride in winning the ‘Supreme’ and ‘Innovation and Strategy’ Awards. However to win the ‘Service Delivery Award’ is very significant, especially as a healthcare provider,” he said.
His wife Ranjna, a Director of the Company, said the Awards confirmed that ETHC was on the ‘right business pathway.’
“It is good to be judged at being good at what we do but we also believe that there is still a lot of work ahead of us to get even better outcomes for our patients,” she said.
General Manager Dr John Evangelista said winning the Awards was a ‘thrilling experience.’
“I think all primary care providers would benefit from the acknowledgements gained by ETHC at the Awards Ceremony and the greater realisation by the commercial sector of the difference that general practitioners and their teams can make to their communities,” he said.
Established 35 years ago as a solo doctor practice with its headquarters based in Otara, South Auckland, ETHC today accounts for 30 medical clinics located throughout South, Central and West Auckland.
ETHC was the winner of the ‘Supreme Business Award,’ the ‘Best Business Innovation Award’ and the ‘Best Professional Business Services Award,’ besides being a Finalist in the ‘Best Large Business Category’ at the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2009.
