Good Governance of all things

Anne Degia-Pala has an interminable link with Indian Newslink and its readers, for well over 17 years, she and us have fostered mutual respect with a level of cordiality that transcends vicissitudes and human barriers.

She is a Candidate for the Whau Ward at the Auckland Council Elections 2019.

She speaks of Good Governance, which is a passion for this publication, promoting as we do, an annual Lecture series under this theme.

Public Policy and Management

Trained in Public Policy and Public Management with Governance and Strategic Planning Capability, Ms Degia-Pala is keen to represent the Whau Ward where she has lived, worked and socialised for more than 30 years.

“I will aspire to balance operations and finances that maximise City services, working within budget constraints. I will support the improvement and efficiency of all City operations by encouraging transparency” she said.

Special Attributes

A Governance Board Member of ratepayer-funded Drowning Prevention Auckland, Trustee NixCrew Road Safety Trust and Member of the National Lottery and Outdoor Safety Community Committee, Ms Degia-Pala is a Peace Ambassador for Family Federation for World Peace and a Commercial Company director for the past 25 years.

“I bring years of community engagement and development skills, business and financial acumen that will enhance the wellbeing of all communities, businesses and associations in an ‘age-friendly’ Whau Ward. We need to deviate from ‘business as usual’ to ensure that we are strategically improving our City operations and the lives of our local people,” she said.
