The world is brimming with technological advancements and materialistic abundance.
The global transformation from industrial age to information age was orchestrated mainly by computer technology.
I have always felt that the information age is overflowing with concepts of knowledge and wisdom that have necessitated people to take value-added decisions.
Yet, it is possible to ignore the importance of ‘Teachings on Life’ (Spiritual Lessons) even when opportunities of such teachings are available in plenty in virtual form.
It is also possible to get entangled in various versions of spiritual teachings, not knowing which one to choose and which way to go.
Therefore, although information is widely available on the Internet without restriction, I believe that it can never replace the ‘face-to-face’ absorption and understanding that one can benefit from live conversations and lectures.
The impact of learning from such environments is for lifetime, casting a lasting impression on us.
Questions on spiritual opulence range from ‘Who am I?’ to ‘Why am I?’ answers to which would need probing into Self, Knowledge and Wisdom.
Here is an opportunity for us to embark on this knowledge.
Chinmaya Mission New Zealand has invited visionary Swami Tejomayananda to deliver a series of lectures on “Yoga of Knowledge and Wisdom” based on Bhagawad Gita, which is the essence of the Vedas in general and that of the Upanishads in particular.
Swami Tejomayananda has travelled all over the world to spread the ancient Vedic wisdom eloquently taught by his Guru the late Swami Chinmayananda, founder of the Chinmaya Mission.
He has also overseen the expansion of many projects in India and overseas.
More than 300 centres around world, with activities and projects spanning spirituality, culture, education, and social service, draw inspiration from his enlightened leadership.
Teachers with such supreme knowledge and energy are very rare.
Swami Tejomayananda has a way of making the sublime philosophy of Vedanta easily understood to listeners of all backgrounds and ages with his practical tips and simple language.
All of us should take some time off from our mundane chores and feed our souls with the nectar of Knowledge and Wisdom that will aid and add to our intellect and smoothen our living.
