Humour, entertainment and fellowship were among the highlights of the Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards Night held on May 12, 2012 at ASB Stadium, Kohimarama, Auckland.
The event began with ‘Pushpanjali,’ a Bharata Natyam item performed by Visalini Gunathas, whose Arangetram was held on March 24, 2012 (Indian Newslink, March 15, 2012).
Henderson Intermediate School students presented ‘Bollywood Medley,’ comprising popular Hindi film songs.
Dancers from V4U Entertainments Limited staged a solo number in Hip Hop style and a duet from ‘Dhoom.’
Azhar Adam of Azhar Adam Entertainment included ‘Why this Kolaiveri Di?” a popular Tamil song in his medley.
The young men from the Sikh community concluded the entertainment segment with their Bhangra dance numbers.
Rachel Chandra was the Master of the Ceremonies.
David Datt, popularly known as DJ Dave (of Future Print), provided video, audio, music, multiple screens, sound and lights.
Soni Mudaliar of ‘0800 Mandap’ did the stage decorations.
Vishwa Gounder of Chefs NZ Caterers catered a wide range of Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
