Three high-quality brands of Fiji were the star attraction at the New Zealand Hair and Beauty Trade Expo held at ASB Showgrounds in Auckland recently.
Facilitated by the Fiji Trade Commission, the event showcased Loaloa Naturals, Loloma and Nama Spa, which will become popular among discerning New Zealand customers.
Trade Commission Business Advisor Camila Eras said that this was an opportunity to bring Fiji’s finest skincare brands to the show after two years of disruption caused by the Covid pandemic.
“Fijian beauty and skincare businesses are playing a key role in Fiji’s trade recovery; brands like Nama and Loloma are increasingly being recognised in international markets, including US and Japan. Our Trade Commission is committed to promoting the sector and creating opportunities so these and other Fijian brands can succeed in the NZ market as well,” she said.
Increasing brand awareness
Nama Spa Sales Director Sarah Pivac said that Expo helped to increase brand awareness.
“As skincare is a flooded market, we had the opportunity to explain face-to-face our point of difference. The hair and beauty industry offers a great range of products, and each has its own unique story. To be able to tell our story was the highlight of the weekend,” she said.
Among the thousands of people who visited the Fiji stand were buyers and consumers who evinced much interest in the Fiji brands.
Loloma Fiji Co-Founder Purnima Singh said that the Expo was beneficial and enabled the participants to get proper feedback on the New Zealand market.
“It has also given us the platform to explore suitable sales and distribution channels. We are grateful to the Fiji Consulate for this insightful and valuable opportunity,” she said.
The best in Fijian tradition
Loaloa Naturals is a Fijian company. Its Founder Vian is on a mission to create natural, vegan, fragrance and cruelty-free, skin and hair care products to improve the livelihood of local communities. Their process is chemical free, achieved through pioneering technology, making Loloma nature’s purest moisturiser, free of harmful chemicals, parabens, or sulfites. Loloma is ideal for babies and mamas.
