The Second Reunion of former All Saints Secondary School students will be held

at D ‘Grand Haveli Restaurant, 736 Great South Road, Manukau on February 23.

The event will provide another opportunity for former students of the well-known Anglican Church-run school in Labasa to catch up and reminisce old times.

Organising committee Chairman Daniel Pillay said that the time was right to hold another reunion, three years after the inaugural event.

He said that the Reunion is open to all ex-All Saints Secondary School students, their spouses and teachers, with an entry fee of $50 per person, which will include complimentary drinks and a five-course meal.

Renewal of ties

“Many former students of the School have made Auckland and New Zealand their home. This event is a wonderful opportunity for these ex-students and former teachers to catch up with old friends. The last event was a great success and we are hoping for a bigger turnout this time,” Mr Pillay said.

About the School

Run by the Anglican Church in Fiji (Diocese of Polynesia), All Saints Secondary School is located at Vulovi, four kilometres from the Town Centre.

Mr Pillay said that the School is going strong with a long history of developing education for multiracial students in the Northern Division.

“Located near the Qawa River, it began as a Boy’s School, and later became a co-educational institution. The area is called Vulovi because it is located at the lower part of the Qawa river. Floods often trouble Labasa affecting All Saints School as well. ‘Vulovi na vanua ni vanua ni salusalu’ is a popular song in Labasa,” he said.

Facebook Postings

He said that the Reunion is not a fundraising event and that the entry fee will just pay for food, drinks and other arrangement.

The Organising Committee has set up a Facebook Page- ‘All Saints Secondary School Ex-Students Reunion,’ which will contain updated information, purchase of tickets and the payment process.
