The past can leave an indelible impression. One such impression worth keeping was Swami Swaroopananda’ s first ever visit to Auckland as the Spiritual Head of the Chinmaya Mission Worldwide.
He conducted morning talks and free public talks in the evening during his six-day stay from April 23 to April 28, 2017.
Swamiji empowered us with Krishna’s Powerful Instructions – 18 verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta.
These talks were truly sublime and relevant in everyday life. The audience of nearly 300 remained rapt with attention on all five days (April 23 to April 27, 2017) and we had an average attendance of 40 people at the morning talks who were uplifted by His exposition on the Vivekachoodamani’s verses on meditation.
GPS in right direction
Swamiji ignited the spiritual hearts of the listeners, many of whom were below 30 years of age.
The message that resonated was, “Never say I can’t… and get off your “but-s.”
These talks reminded us of the importance of a Guru in our spiritual journey as Swamiji yoked us to our spiritual identity and armed us with a GPS – ‘Guru Positioning System.’
The clarity and simplicity that Swamiji’s words brought to our minds was simply phenomenal. His connect with the audience was nothing short of inspirational.
These instructions, be it in the evening class or in the morning sessions on the meditation, connected instantly with the seeker within us all and gave us a direction that would lead us to the goal divine.
Chinmaya Mission New Zealand and all the members of the audience are grateful to our beloved Swami Swaroopanandaji for bestowing us with such benevolence.
Swami Atulananda Saraswati is Resident Teacher and Spiritual Guide at Chinmaya Mission based in Auckland. He also oversees the activities of the Chinmaya Centres in Nelson and Wellington.
