Do we have Hindi teaching capability in New Zealand?

Have your say on this Survey

Dr Pushpa Wood

Would you like to Hindi language being taught in New Zealand schools?
If yes, this is your opportunity to help us create a complete picture of our teacher capability by completing an online survey.

Teaching Hindi language in New Zealand: Teacher Survey

Over the years, a call for listing Hindi as one of the international languages in the New Zealand education system has been gaining strong support.

The community has been very vocal about the need to promote, strengthen and support this fourth most-spoken language in the country and has been making submissions to the government.

More information needed

It has been felt that to strengthen our request to include Hindi as another language, we need to gather further information.

We would therefore like to invite you to participate in this survey to help us understand the capacity and capability of the Hindi language teachers in New Zealand.

We developed this Survey in consultation with other language experts in New Zealand and overseas. The information gathered through this Survey will help us to develop a comprehensive strategy for teaching and use of Hindi language in New Zealand.

We are pleased to report that the survey is supported by the High Commission of India, New Zealand.
