Is your Husband/Wife fighting with you?
Do they verbally abuse you or swear at you?
Are they controlling you?
The most common signs of controlling behaviour would indicate the following: They ask you for your social media account passwords. They do not give you any access to money. They do not want you to work. They keep your bank cards including credit or debit cards. They do not allow you to contact your friends or family.
If any of the above is happening to you, that means your husband/wife/partner is trying to control you
Do they hit you or the children?
Do they threaten to report you to immigration because of your immigration status?
Do they force themselves on you?
Do they force you into doing sexual acts?
Do they threaten to take away children and not allow you any contact with them?
You do not feel safe in your own home?
You do not know what to do, where to go, where to seek help, and whom to contact.
You may not realise but if any or all of these things are happening to you, then you are a victim of family violence.
Help is available, there are ethnic service providers who speak your language, understand your culture and can arrange support according to your needs
So please contact any one of them and they will be more than happy to support you and guide you.
If it is an emergency, please contact the Police on 111.
If it is not an emergency, please contact the Police on 105.
