You may be one those running a busy life but with a ‘feeling of guilt’ that you are unable to help others in need- not financial but something more.
You may be the sort of person who believes that there is much more to life than running after materialistic and mundane things day after day.
People attending the courses and programmes of the Art of Living (AOL) Foundation held in New Zealand and other parts of the world say that they have found greater use of the mind and body for the good of the society.
And those graduating to the ‘Divya Samaj Nirman’ (DSN) programmes believe that they have not only ‘discovered’ themselves but are also able to extend a helping hand to others.
“It is about building a better community, society, country and the world, with people pursuing better things in life,” says AOL Senior Teacher Sukhvinder Singh.
This 39-year-old chartered accountant from Delhi has been at the forefront of the programme that is drawing an increasing number of people to become better humans, creating a better place in their midst.
Mr Singh, now settled in Canada, globetrots to teach DSN to people (restricted to those who have completed an Advanced AOL Course) beyond the barriers of race, religion, income and language.
Emerging dynamism
Developed by Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the AOL Movement that has spread across to almost every country in the world, the programme is said to bring out the ‘dynamism’ in people, motivating them not only to be involved in self-assigned projects or join groups dedicated to eradicating the ills of the society.
We asked Mr Singh if ‘DNA’ attendees would help in the efforts to tackle the rising incidence of family violence.
“That would be one of the projects that can be generated at our DNA courses. We will ask participants to ‘go out’ and offer their thoughts and services to spread the importance of quelling family violence. They may evolve their own ideas and perhaps work with those who are already involved,” he said.
Mr Singh would be conducting DNA Courses in Christchurch and Auckland as per the following details:
