Officials of the Hamilton Malayalee Association (HMA) have invited New Zealanders to participate in ‘Ezhuthola,’ their annual community magazine.
Association Secretary Dilip Kurien said such contributions could be in English or Malayalam from all ethnic groups.
“We welcome short stories, essays, book reviews, interviews, cartoons, photographs and other forms of creativity, so long as they are original and clear of Copyright and Intellectual Property issues. The idea is to provide a platform where people from different cultures can share their thoughts and experiences and connect with others,” he said.
Mr Kurien said the first edition of ‘Ezhuthola,’ published last year, has had encouraging response from communities in New Zealand and abroad.
“HMA is keen to promote social integration and showcase our literature and rich cultural heritage to the greater New Zealand community. Our aim is to give back to New Zealand as much as possible by supporting a variety of causes that help make this country a better place to live and work,” he said.
Cover Design Contest
The Association has also announced a Cover Design competition exclusively for its members who are 18 years of age or more.
Mr Kurien said the entries could be photographs, paintings or drawings, which are original, not published anywhere earlier and do not encounter Copyright or Intellectual Property issues.
All entries could be sent to any of the following email addresses:
info@nzmalayalee.org; nairpvv@gmail.com; dmatthan@gmail.com
