Mercy Vellara, a Waikato District Health Board Nurse, passed away in Hamilton on June 12 after a prolonged illness, leaving behind her husband Roy Vellara (General Secretary of the Hamilton Indian Cultural Society), a son (Hans) and daughter (Benna). She was 52 years old.
A qualified Nurse, Mercy worked in India (Jaipur and Mumbai), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia and New Zealand.
Friends and well-wishers can visit her home at 18 Mews Place, Forest Lake, Te Rapa after 10 am on June 15. The Funeral Service will be held at St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral (51 Victoria Street) at 12 pm, followed by the final Committal Service at the Newstead Cemetery (Morrinsville Road) at 2 pm.
