China has given a grant of US$ 50,000 to the Fijian Government to advance its efforts to combat dengue fever.
Yang Zhaohui, Charge de Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Suva presented a cheque to Healthy Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr Eloni Tora last week in the Fijian capital.
He said that the assistance was in response to the Fijian Government’s efforts to address dengue fever.
“We believe that this donation will enhance the efforts of the Health Ministry,” he said.
Dr Tora expressed his appreciation to the Chinese Government.
“With support from other government departments, development partners and organisations, we have worked hard to control dengue since November 2013. This donation has come at the right time,” Dr Tora said.
