DFK International has appointed Navin Patel, Managing Partner of the Auckland based DFK Oswin Griffiths, to the post of Vice President Asia Pacific.
He will hold the office for a three year term.
According to sources, this is the first time that a DFK Partner from the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific regions has been appointed to the prestigious post at DFK International, which has three Regional Vice-Presidents representing the Americas, Europe and Middle East and Africa.
His extensive accounting and commercial experience in Asia Pacific and appreciation and understanding of various cultures in Asian will enable Mr Patel to support the DFK member firms in Asia Pacific in his new role.
A graduate from Wellington’s Victoria University, he launched his career in Chartered Accountancy in 1973 at a ‘Big 4’ firm in New Zealand. He spent 13 years at the firm, some of which were at its Fiji and US offices.
His association with DFK International and DFK ANZ began in 1993 when DFK Oswin Griffiths became a member of DFK International.
He became a Partner at DFK Oswin Griffiths in 1998 and later its Managing Partner. The firm, established in 1970, is a leading Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory Practice.
He is currently a member of the board of directors of DFK ANZ, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand and a fellow of New Zealand Trustee Association.
Mr Patel is renowned for his extensive knowledge, expertise and experience in auditing and business management consultancy, useful for clients, many of who have global operations.
He has been functioning as a professional company director for many key clients of the firm with cross border operations for the past ten years.
Mr Patel manages key supplier relationships for one of his clients with international operations including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore and the US.
He intends to work with senior member firms in each of the countries to increase the profile of DFK International.
