The India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC) has done well in deciding to attend the annual Partnership Summit being held in Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, a Southern State with a ‘huge promise.’
Prince Kumar, a member of the Executive Committee, will represent the Council at the 22nd Annual Summit being held this year at the’ City of Port, Steel and Growth’ on January 27 and 28, 2017.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the Summit with the support of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion of the Commerce & Industry Ministry of the Union Government and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh (AP).
More than 1500 delegates from India, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, France, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Qatar, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United States of America are expected to attend the Summit.
Emerging Global Order
‘Partnerships for Sustained Growth in an Emerging Global Economic Order,’ is the central theme of this year’s Summit, which will be attended by federal and state ministers, local and foreign investors and businesses.
Andhra Pradesh (AP) Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is known for his visionary leadership and has set high ambitions for his State which he sees as a ‘gateway to growing markets and promising opportunities.’
Describing AP as the Sunrise State, he invited foreign investors saying that it is endowed with rich natural resources and mineral wealth and boasts of the second largest coastline in India.
“We have mapped our 2029 Vision Blueprint with a global outlook and a target to be among the best three States in India by 2022. Our growth trajectory has been on the rise with Andhra Pradesh being the fastest growing State in India with 10.99% Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) in 2015-2016,” he said.
Ambitious Plans
India’s Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley said that AP’s growth is driven by two strong assets, namely, high standards of entrepreneurship of Telugu people and the leadership of Mr Naidu.
“As a result, the ecosystem in the State is inherently business-friendly,” he said.
Nirmala Sitaraman, India’s Commerce & Industry Minister, who hails from Hyderabad (although born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu), said that AP is witnessing immense activities by way of logistics hub, corridors, newer seaports and airports.
“The Partnership Summit for global and Indian industry will discuss innovative policies and path-breaking strategies,” she said.
INZBC Head of Government Relations Wenceslaus Anthony said that it was appropriate that Mr Kumar represented the Council at the Summit.
“He has been a member of our Executive Committee for nearly six years and is a recipient of many Awards including the ‘Pride of India,’ ‘Rashtriya Ekta’ and ‘Bharatiya Udyog Ratna.’ He heads ‘Edex Academy of New Zealand,’ which has offices in New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia,” Mr Anthony said.
International event
Mr Anthony said that the Summit has since become one of the most important international business events in India.
“It aims to further partnerships, to build ideologies based on shared dreams that bind societies together in this knowledge driven world. The Summit has established itself as an ideal ground for business networking and sharing of ideas among stakeholders on the best strategies and policies to help countries overcome the obstacles to improving competitiveness and integrate better into the globalized world,” he said.
The Partnership Summit 2017 would feature workshops, panel discussions, expert and practitioner talks, one-to-one meetings, networking sessions, business field tours and optional excursions.
“It will also showcase investment opportunities in Agriculture, Food Processing, Information Technology, Electronics and Hardware, Automobiles and Auto Components, Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Textiles, Tourism, Education, and Energy,” Mr Anthony said.
