A boxing contest between Waheed Khan of Fiji and James Uoka of Samoa promises to be an exciting event.
Organised by ‘Fiji Relief 2000,’ the bout will be held at the ASB Netball Courts Stadium (95 Browns Road) in Manurewa, South Auckland on November 12.
It would be a ten-round, welterweight contest, with another eight fights to wrap a night of boxing.
The winner will face (Zulfikar) Joy Ali, Fiji’s most famous boxer in New Zealand in February 2012.
Boxing buffs from Fiji would recall the glorious days of the 1970s when boxing was dominated by some of the finest and most ‘ferocious’ boxers of all times.
The forthcoming match is in aid of the poor and needy in Fiji.
Tickets priced at $20, are available at Trimmer Dairy, 200 Shirley Road, Papatoetoe.
As well as professional boxing, the evening promises fun and quality time with kava and food sold at the venue.
It will also feature members of Al Farooq Youth Group debuting after the successful completion of intense training.
