Bollywood enthusiasts who are fond of dancing now have an opportunity to learn the ‘art’ at weekly classes scheduled to be held in East Auckland.
Conducted by V4U Entertainments, which has record of performances at Indian Newslink events over the past 15 years, the first class was held today (Monday) at Kotahi Community Centre, located at 272E Ti Rakau Drive, Burswood.
Called, ‘The Bolly X Workout Station,’ the classes will be conducted by Afrin Todywalla, who has participated in entertainment programmes.
Afrin recently qualified as a Chiropractor, began her practice at Functional Health (Howick, East Auckland) on January 10, 2023. A separate story will appear shortly.
She said that there is sustained demand for learning Bollywood style of dancing.
“As a family of entertainers, I am aware the keen interest evinced by people of all ethnic groups in dancing. Indian films are famous for their song and dance sequences and V4U has been a platform on which many young people have performed and entertained. Now, this stage is being reset for new set of learners and others keen to hone their talent,” she said.
Ms Todywalla said that the first session (held today) was encouraging and helped to understand the growing interest in Bollywood dancing.
“We had a full house of enthusiasts. Everyone loved to be a part of the fun and all of us are looking forward to next Monday,” she said.
Ms Todywalla said that ‘The Bolly X-Workout Station’ is open to anyone 13 years and above.
