The cancellation of New Zealand Vs Pakistan Cricket series by New Zealand, in the manner it has been done, has brought about mixed feelings among the Pakistani Diaspora.
We Pakistanis have made New Zealand our home, and always look forward to any opportunity which may build and strengthen our friendly relationship and where we are able to rejoice and celebrate together.
There is no better cooperation than Cricket to continue to achieve this outcome, as we have done in the past.
We are certain that both countries will eventually be able to work out and address the concerns. However, we as a responsible community member representing both nations must play a responsible role and let not mischievous elements succeed.
Advise to Pakistan community
We would like to advise our community members not to indulge in social media trails and avoid from making any counter derogatory comments.
The Pakistani community enjoys an excellent reputation in New Zealand for its contribution at various levels and disciplines throughout the country.
We hope that the cancellation of this Cricket Tour is temporary and that the New Zealand Cricket team will revisit Pakistan to bring smiles on the faces of 220 million Pakistanis, both in Pakistan and across the globe.
We strongly support our Cricket teams and pray for their safety.
Some questions
We will expect the response of New Zealand Cricket to the following:
We believe that New Zealand is sending a wrong message to the world.
There must be a level of transparency around how the decision to cancel the Tour was made.
Did New Zealand make any backup plan when they went to Pakistan?
Is there any plan to reschedule the series?
How will you manage the relationship between Pakistan and New Zealand Cricket Boards?
