It was an evening for the Stars, the Milky Way and billions of other Galaxies on the vast canvas of the Universe.
For about 120 guests gathered at the Stardome Observatory and Planetarium in Central Auckland, it was also an occasion to greet Lawrence Pereira on his 50th birthday and congratulate him and his wife Erica on their 23rd Wedding Day.
Among them were Steve and Odelia D’Souza, Directors of the Kalamazoo Group, Wenceslaus and Susan Anthony of the WAML Group, businesspersons, community leaders and other guests.
As they said their prayers and later danced to the tunes of a specially arranged jazz band, one sentiment was apparent- that the birthday-cum-wedding day bash at such a venue was truly an astronomical achievement.
Mr Pereira is a successful entrepreneur and has been associated with the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards since 2009.
“It is great to see the Awards Programme growing bigger and better year after year. It was also pleasing to note that among the guests were several finalists, winners and sponsors,” he said.
