She will be accompanied by Renuka Ketheesan (Nattuvangam), Bhavani Kishore Kumar (Vocal), Neelamani Ramakrishnan (Mridangam), J B Sruthi Sagar (Flute) and Shubha Santhosh (Veena).
Guru’s tribute
As reported in our July 1, 2015 issue, Ms Ketheesan described Sumedha as ‘A dedicated, and devoted student with commitment and a penchant for proficiency.’
“Even as she walked into my home as a nine-year-old new migrant, I knew that I had a student who was serious about her objective of becoming a good dancer. Over the past 12 years, I have witnessed her interest in this ancient art grow into a passion, bringing with it discipline and a routine to seek excellence,” she said.
Entry to the Bharata Natyam Concert is free but it is advisable to obtain a formal invitation from Sumedha’s parents Prabha and Hariswamy. Email: rhariswamy@gmail.com
