Judges Comment:
Gajendra Naidu played First class soccer in Fiji in the late 1970s.
In 1982, he migrated to New Zealand on a contract with the East Coast Bays Club. He also played for the Howick Club.
Since 1999, Gajendra has been playing for the South Auckland Rangers side where his focus has been in the ‘Over 35s’ and ‘Over 40s.’
He has won a number of awards, including ‘The Golden Boot,’ ‘Best Player’ and ‘Most Valued Player’. Gajendra coaches Under 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 grades at the Papatoetoe United Soccer Club.
In 2009, he was awarded the coach of the year at Papatoetoe.
