Indian businesses are among the strongest partners in the growth and development of the economy and many of them have been a source of inspiration for the country, Small Business Minister John Banks has said.
“Entrepreneurial efforts must be accompanied by commitment, the competence to set targets and reach them and the capacity and willingness to serve customers with quality and care,” he said.
Mr Banks was the Guest of Honour at a dinner hosted by this newspaper to honour the Sponsors of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (INLIBA) 2013 on Monday, September 23 at Stamford Plaza Hotel in Auckland City.
Sponsors’ support
He said that the country must celebrate the success of the business community, especially small and medium enterprises which face formidable challenges.
“I am happy that Indian Newslink instituted the Awards Scheme to recognise and reward business achievers in the Indian community. Such projects cannot be successful without the support of sponsors. It is heartening to see that many of our major institutions such as BNZ (Title Sponsor), KPMG, Unitec and CPA Australia supporting this initiative. This Awards Night has become an important event on New Zealand’s Calendar,” Mr Banks said.
Stating that hard work, complimented by honesty, integrity and commitment will not go unrewarded, he cited his own life and career as an example. Working as a trailer-boy collecting used bottles before and after school hours, he progressed in life pursuing objectives.
Celebrating success
As we expressed our gratitude to our Sponsors, they said that they felt privileged to be associated with this Project, now in its sixth year.
“We are happy to join hands with Indian Newslink to celebrate the success of the Indian business community through INLIBA 2013. These Awards help us to not only promote our image but also our products and services,” they said.
The exclusive dinner was organised to apprise sponsors of the Awards Scheme, the benefits it has accrued thus far to the sponsors and the Gala Black Tie Cocktails, Dinner, Entertainment and Awards Presentation Ceremony scheduled to be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Sky City Convention Centre in Auckland City.
