Entries for the Eighth Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (IBA) 2015 opened on March 1, 2015 and would close at 6 pm on August 31, 2015.
This is one of the few Awards schemes that are kept open for six months to enable companies and individuals to choose the categories as per IBA rules and regulations, attend our free Workshops, consult staff and perhaps customers, complete the entry forms, review them and then finally email them to iba2015@ignitionpartner.com
Assured integrity
As we have emphasised often, entries are evaluated by a panel of judges that is independent of this newspaper and over the years, the judges have instilled confidence among the participants that the confidentiality of their entries are guaranteed and that the management and staff of Indian Newslink and our sponsors are not involved in the judging process. Our judges are all specialists in their respective fields of activity and confirm that they have no conflict of interest with regard to the entries entrusted to them for evaluation.
Established in 2008, these Awards have become a platform to recognise and reward successful businesses and professionals of Indian origin in New Zealand.
IBA this year comprises 13 individual categories, encompassing a wide facet of business operations.
Rising population
Census 2013 identified people of Indian origin as the fastest growing population in New Zealand. With the substantial increase in numbers, it is natural that they have a profound impact on all sectors of the economy.
The government’s friendly policies encourage people to be self-employed and become successful entrepreneurs matching their skills and capabilities. IBA has emerged as the only credible measure of assessing the performance of companies and individuals and rewarding them for their achievements. Our Awards Scheme has proved record of integrity and honesty, which in turn generates increasing interest and number of entrants year after year.
Free Workshops
As well as establishing a robust judging process, our Free Workshops provide an opportunity for potential entrants to understand the Awards Scheme and the judging process. The Workshops, scheduled to be held at BNZ Partners in Highbrook (May 5), Henderson (June 9) and Auckland CBD (Deloitte Centre on July 7) are conducted by the judges to explain the marking system and ‘how to file a good entry.’
The Workshops also enable potential entrants to choose the categories best suited to them and prepare well to submit their entries within the scheduled timeframe.
Many businesses consider the Workshops to be ‘eye-openers,’ encouraging them to have in place a proper business plan, marketing and distribution strategy, good team work, customer feedback and periodic assessment of performance by external experts.
Partners in Progress
Participants, finalists and winners in the past years have said that the Awards Programme is an honest and diligent exercise in honouring deserving people and businesses for their success in the commercial world.
Commercial entities run by people of Indian origin are significant partners in the growth of the New Zealand economy. They enhance productivity, generate employment, attract foreign investment and improve our competitiveness in the world markets.
This is a wonderful opportunity for all businesses and professionals of Indian origin to be a part of an initiative, which at its heart wants them to grow and expand.
The Business Excellence in International Business with India is open to all New Zealand businesses engaged in a commercial activity with India, thereby making the Awards Scheme truly national in its scope and extent.
Earning benefits
We invite you to enter the Awards, benefit from the experience, be a winner, encourage and inspire others to enter the Scheme in 2016.
That has been the essence of our Awards year after year since 2008 – to motivate our businesses and professionals to lift their game, become national and international players and intensify their engagement as partners in the country’s commercial and industrial success.
