ANZ launches new Migrant Package

ANZ is a proud supporter of migrant communities in New Zealand.

On 2 April, the bank underlines that commitment with the launch of its Migrant Banking Package – a suite of leading products and services tailored to the needs of the migrant community.

The package, which will be available through any of the bank’s more than 300 branches nationwide, was developed over several months by ANZ’s specialised Migrant Banking Team. In designing the package, the team spoke extensively to customers and migrant communities to understand their needs, their aspirations and to find out which products and services would deliver great value and help them achieve their goals.

Benefits

“ANZ’s Migrant Banking Package is a suite of competitive banking products that has been designed to make settling in for the new migrant easier,” says Ramesh Subramaniam, Head of South Asia for the International Banking Services team.

ANZ understands it can be challenging for a new migrant to get settled in a new country, let alone trying to sort out their finances. To make this process easier, our team can help customers set up their banking prior to their arrival in the country.”

Those signing up for the Migrant Banking Package can enjoy fee savings and discounts across several products from day one.

Everyday Banking fee savings: Unlimited automated and manual transactions, with monthly fee of $5 waived if you deposit at least $2500 into this account each month. With this account, you can choose a Visa Debit card with no annual card fee*. Alternatively, you can avoid monthly account and transaction fees by just banking electronically ($3 manual transaction fee will apply).

Savings account: You can access your account as often as you like and still earn the full interest rate. You do not have to pay any monthly account and transaction fees by banking electronically ($3 manual withdrawal fee will apply).

Credit Card fee savings: When you take up a new ANZ personal credit card, your annual card fee will be waived for 12 months*.

Overdraft: No overdraft application fee and based on our pre-approval criteria, you could get a pre-approved overdraft limit depending on your gross salary*.

Vehicle loan: You can get a vehicle loan with a discount of 1% per annum off the standard interest rate (minimum loan $10,000)

International Money Transfer fee savings: Using our Internet Banking service or at any ANZ branch, you will pay a fee of just $18 when transferring funds overseas (savings of $10 per transaction)*.

House, Contents & Car/Boat Insurance discounts: Get a 15% premium discount when two or more ANZ insurance policies are taken out, including home, contents, motor vehicle or boat cover*.

* Terms and conditions apply. Visit any ANZ branch for details of the package criteria and a full list of fees, terms and conditions.

Who can take advantage of this package?

Migrants who have a Work or Resident Visa and have been in New Zealand for less than 24 months can apply for the benefits of the Migrant Banking package.

As a part of the eligibility criteria, Work Visa of at least two years with minimum one-year validity is required.

A two-year eligibility timeframe means the package benefits are available not only to customers who have recently arrived in New Zealand but also to long-term or permanent migrants who are well on their way to settling in the country.

Migrants who are not resident permit holders but employed in New Zealand on a minimum 2-year work visa can also take advantage of this migrant package.

Overall, it is a great solution for a large base of migrant customers in New Zealand.
