Former All Black Halfback and former Blues player Ofisa Tonu’u will be the speaker at a special event being held this weekend in Auckland.
He will speak about the need for physical and mental fitness and how sports changed his life and career.
Fitness expert and Puketapapa Local Board Member Ella Kumar is organising the programme to be held on September 19 at 7 pm at Mt Roskill Grammar School, (in Room G4) located on Frost Road in Mt Roskill.
She is also the Ambassador for ‘Connect2 Sport.’
“The need for young and old to undertake a sporting activity to maintain and foster physical and mental wellbeing will be the highlight of a programme,” she said.
“Adults and children should attend this programme which will include presentations by guest speakers and gain information about the benefits of sports on education. It is important to register for the event,” Ms Kumar added.

Pampering women
Ella Kumar is organising another special event at Lynfield Youth & Recreation Centre at Margaret Park in Lynfield, Auckland on October 5.
Called, ‘Women’s Pamper Event,’ it will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm.
“The topics for discussion include Breast Cancer, Nutrition Tips, Ways to increase Physical Activity and other issues of relevance,” Ms Kumar said.
