They have been away a while but this season marks the return of the Aces to Eden Park and the HRV Cup will find them playing on both the Outer Oval and the main stadium.
The Aces are looking to make it three in a row in the HRV Cup Twenty20 competition and also follow on from their Champions League success where they won three games including toppling IPL champions the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The competition this year has seen the advent of Friday Nights under Lights with a game on every Friday night from 7 pm. The Aces will host three consecutive Friday night games in the main stadium at Eden Park starting with a game against the Canterbury Wizards on December 21 and followed by clashes with the Wellington Firebirds (December 28) and Otago Volts (January 4).
They also play two games on the Outer Oval during the holiday period with a game on Boxing Day against neighbours the Northern Knights and one against the Central Stags on Tuesday, January 15 with both games starting at 4 pm.
Plunket Shield
After we bid farewell to the HRV Cup, the Aces will return to the four-day Plunket Shield competition before heading into the one day Ford Trophy in February.
Eden Park will also be playing host to the touring English team as they arrive for a three T20, three ODI and three test match series against the Blackcaps.
Eden Park will host one of each, with T20 and ODI in February and a test match at the end of March.
It is a busy schedule and shaping up to be a great summer of cricket.
Therefore, do not forget to get to the Aces first HRV Cup home game on Friday, December 21 at Eden Park. Children under 16 will be admitted free, while tickets for adults cost only $15 per person.
