Ace players for Ace Cricket sessions

Budding Cricketers will have a rare opportunity of free coaching sessions in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe from next week.

Called, ‘Cricket Drive,’ the sessions will feature expert Coach Garry Wood from Papatoetoe Cricket, Auckland Aces players Bhupinder Singh and Matt Quinn and Anand Mitha from the Eden Roskill Cricket Club.

This is a Freedom2Play initiative of Radio Tarana and the Papatoetoe Sports Club.

The Cricket Drive sessions are for youngster in the five to 15 age group.

These sessions will help the young players get excited about our top summer sport and help develop interest in the game.

The aim is to share some tips and guide the players and their parents on realising their dreams.

Parents’ queries

Apart from the training for the players, parents can use these sessions to get answers on registration, cricket calendar, facilities and services and how their children can progress as top Cricket players.

Freedom2Play will provide kits for the children for use at these sessions.

However, all children who are ten years and above should get their own protective equipment as the training will be more intense.

Although the sessions are free, prior registration is necessary as each session can accommodate only 30 players.
