A victim of black magic reveals her terrible plight

Indian astrologer couple play havoc with an innocent woman

First of many parts

A team leader at my workplace encouraged me to write my story for publication in Indian Newslink.

My name is Mariam (not my real name) and I live in Auckland. I am a depressed woman, cheated and victimised by people who have no conscience or scruples.

This is a story of how I was scammed by a so-called priest and his wife from India posing as healers, who were operating as Black Magic and Witchcraft priests in New Zealand.

I later came to know this is illegal in New Zealand.

Serious victim

Another team leader has also been very encouraging and has repeatedly tried to get me over the guilt, shame and embarrassment that were preventing me from writing and telling my story to other people.

He said that whatever happened was not my fault and that the so-called priest was a wicked man who took advantage of weak and vulnerable victims, bullied and exploited them. His wife is an accomplice in this crime.

Physical pain

I am experiencing severe pain in my knees. I have just undergone an X-Ray examination at the hospital for severe swelling and inflammation of the joints.

This black magic priest’s voice keeps playing inside my head.

One day he asked me if I had severe knee pains and cramps in my legs.

When I said ‘Yes,’ he added, ‘that’s because your sisters-in-law are doing black magic to cripple you and make you mentally ill.’

I cannot rest in peace until he gets arrested as he has all my personal information. He was operating from a precinct on Great South Road, Manurewa, Auckland, close to the the Fire Station.

I reported him to the Police. They informed me that this man had left the country on June 9, 2015, and that they are unable to extradite him from India.

My last visit to this priest was on June 8, 2015 when he took from me several gold items such as necklace, bangles and pendants, 500 grams of silver jewellery, Majorica Spanish pearls valued at $2500, three sets of Indian pearls, wedding sarees, other expensive items and about $10,000 cash.

Magic powers

These pearls were gifts from my uncle. When I started crying, the priest said that just think that my uncles spirit is trying to help me save my life. He went to the extent of taking me to the mall to buy gifts for him and his wife.

He gave a few metallic things to keep inside my cupboards along with my jewellery and clothes when I left for India. He also gave me a few other shining metals to keep in the loft of my house in India.

I have not disclosed these to anyone until now.

The liar

He was using his magical powers through those metallic things.

I paid his Spark telephone bills and for two mobile phones that he got me to buy for him. At the Spark shop, he told me about the evil spirits calling him on his phone, saying that they wanted to to kill him because for helping me.

He said that I am his real sister and very soon I will be purchasing a Ferrari car for my son and a BMW car for my daughter.

This is a quote from a doctor who saw me last at his clinic. He said: “Mariam, learn to trust your gut instinct and rely on your inner wisdom. Follow your intuition, which has been cut off completely.”

Whatever happened with me could have happened to any law abiding citizen with the way in which the so-called priest and his wife manipulated and betrayed me with their deceit, lies and emotional blackmailing techniques.

They had psyched me so much about the evil spirits that I was driving with fear that I might meet with an accident and had not approached my suitcase or gone in my garage at night for fear of the spirits.

I had recorded his wife’s conversation with me when I went to claim my US$ 4000 on the next day after he sent her to my home to pick the money.

She clearly spoke about her husband’s grandfather making some special prayers for me in Mysore, India because my life was in danger and that I would end up in hospital if these prayers were not performed on time.

I unknowingly deleted this recording and lost a vital source of evidence for catching him. I also threw away the advertisement in which he clearly claimed to be a Ninth generation divine Godman who could treat all forms of black magic and remove evil spirits from the home and families.

About Pratima Nand

A victim of black magic reveals-Pratima Nand WebAuckland based Pratima Nand is a true community and social worker, who helps people in distress and brings them to the attention of Indian Newslink readers. Last year, she launched a campaign against fake astrologers, soothsayers and those who claim to practice black magic and witchcraft (which are illegal in New Zealand), helped in a sting operation of TV3 and attracted the attention of Immigration New Zealand. These offenders from India advertised in all Indian newspapers, radio and television stations and mainstream community newspapers to promote themselves. Ms Nand, a victim of one such astrologer, coordinated single-handedly with the authorities to being the perpetrators to book but all of them fled the county. Ms Nand, who was among the ten top finalists (out of more than 330 nominations) at the recently held Metlifecare Senior New Zealander of the Year 2016 Awards recently introduced to us a victim (a person of Indian origin from Mumbai), of one such so-called astrologer and remover of black magic. We have changed her name to protect her identity but the Auckland woman is keen to tell her story, which will be serialised in three consecutive issues. The story appearing here is the first part.
