A topic for communitywide discussion

Indian Newslink is completing 11 years, which is a great achievement for Indians in New Zealand and for the team at Indiana Publications (NZ) Limited, owners of the Newspaper and its other brands.

I have been reading, advertising and writing for this Newspaper almost from the day I came to New Zealand four years ago.

The work I have been doing in the community has also given me a clearer picture of how Indian Newslink is accepted amongst the members of the society.

It is really a reflection on the grip that Editor Venkat Raman has on the pulse of the affairs of Indian community here that the news in Indian Newslink becomes topics of discussion amongst all who have anything to do with India or Indians in New Zealand.

I am sure that in the coming days, the Newspaper will further improve its online presence so that it can deliver news to people round the clock rather than fortnightly as it is doing now.

It is heartwarming to know that the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (IBA) is the first and only Awards scheme of its type providing a platform for the business fraternity of Indian origin to share their success and be recognised and rewarded for their efforts in New Zealand and overseas.

If the youth of our community can also be provided some avenue to keep the link with our culture alive, it will be a great service rendered by the Newspaper to promote the future generations.

I wish more strength and success to Managing Director Ravin Lal and his team at Indiana Publications (NZ) Limited.

Manish Tanna is an academic, Secretary of Manukau Indian Association, our Columnist and Marketing Coordinator of the Indian Newsilnk Indian Business Awards. He is seen here in discussion with Prime Minister John Key and Radio Tarana Managing Director Robert Khan at the launch of Electionlink at our offices on June 10, 2010.
