Indian Newslink steps into its thirteenth year of publication with this issue.
A special 20-page Twelfth Anniversary issue, forming a part of this edition, was readied for release by Prime Minister John Key at the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2011 Gala Black Tie Dinner and Awards Presentation on November 14 at the Sky City Convention Centre in the presence of Labour Leader Phil Goff, Indian High Commissioner Retired Admiral Sureesh Mehta, BNZ Chairman John Waller, BNZ Regional Managing Partner (Northern) Alan Young and 700 guests.
The special issue carries views of political and business leaders on this newspaper, what it has and what it lacks.
We do not claim to be a large, mainstream newspaper but being small does not diminish the importance of a publication. We believe that we have, over the past twelve years, exercised considerable influence on issues of concern to the community, at times to the displeasure of some.
We realise we have just taken twelve steps in a long and challenging journalistic journey but those steps were possible only because of your guidance and support.
As we move on, we promise to become more responsible, responsive and more attuned to your needs.
Readers have welcomed the changes that we made last year – changes to the way the newspaper looks and presents itself. Our web edition, which is increasingly being read by people around the world, was also redesigned with several added features.
We have also recently redesigned our Awards website (www.inliba.com) to make it more interesting and user-friendly.
These are just a beginning and there are many more to follow.
And that is a promise from a teenager.
