A powerful link strengthens community bond

I have always believed that every aspect of the media is a powerful tool that can motivate public discussion and influence people to a large extent.

Indian Newslink has been a powerful member of New Zealand’s Fourth Estate and has been on the forefront of providing information to the Sub-Continent community since its establishment in November 1999.

Newspapers in the Indian Community should be commended for their enthusiasm and enterprise in making available their publications free of cost to a growing number of readers. In essence, they depend on advertising for revenue.

This offers a challenge in a competitive environment.

I have been an avid reader of Indian Newslink for many years and followed with interest its growth. I am pleased that it covers almost every area of reader-interest with unbiased and balanced views on issues that affect the community.

Businesses and those who seek to advertise their products, services, programmes and other interests find in Indian Newslink a powerful link to reach across to the people throughout New Zealand.

With a print run of 15,000 copies and readership of more than 75,000 including the web edition, this publication has created for itself a niche market.

Among the finest attributes of Indian Newslink are its well-written and well-reported stories, cross-section of views and opinions, coverage of political, business, community, entertainment and sports news, embellished by elegant layout and design.

I believe that Indian Newslink provides extensive coverage of the events and programmes of all religious groups, thereby endearing itself to a large audience.

Photographs published in this newspaper are always absorbing, with every picture telling more than a thousand words.

Like many other advertisers, I have found good value in advertising in Indian Newslink. While special reports and features appearing in most issues are educative, informative and entertaining, the annual Indian Newslink Fastfind Indian Business Directory is a treasure house of information.

Indian Newslink faces the challenge of nurturing and maintaining its uniqueness and coping with the market conditions and emerging trends.

I am confident that the newspaper is well equipped to meet these challenges and continue to be a family, community and business publication.

I wish the owners, management and staff of this newspaper all the best in their endeavours.

I am sure Indian Newslink will continue to grow from strength to strength and provide higher levels of service to the community.
