One of the most successful businesspersons of the Indian community has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the ASB Community Trust.
Vipan Garg, Managing Director of SRG Holdings Limited based in Auckland became the first Trustee of Indian origin to occupy the coveted post.
A Chartered Accountant by qualification, Mr Garg is known for his penchant for good governance, sound financial management, proper audit and sensible cost control.
As well as being on the board of Super Liquor Holdings Limited (a franchisor company with more than 140 retail stores all over the country), he has also been involved in retail and property business for the past 18 years.
He was a member of a business delegation that accompanied Prime Minister John Key to India in June 2011.
Mr Garg is associated with religious and community welfare organisations including Bharatiya Mandir Charitable Trust, which owns the Temple in Balmoral, Auckland.
He is married to Shalu and the couple have three children.
