Alastair Bell, a man rich with business and administrative experience, has led the Communities & Residents (C&R) Group to victory in the just concluded Entrust Trustee Election.
He secured the highest number of votes- 16,403, followed by Michael Buczkowski (15,533), Denise Lee (15,274), Paul Hutchison (13,417) and William Cairns (11,892) all from C&R.
There were nine other candidates for the five Entrust Trust, polling for which concluded at 5 pm today (October 29, 2021).
They were five candidates representing the ‘More for You, Better for Climate,’ Group. They were Emma McInnes (11, 054), Dewy Sacayan (9690), Leon Wijohn (8560), Rohan Macmahon (8513) and Lance Wiggs (8098).
There were also three Independent Candidates including James Carmichael (8228), Richard Leckinger (4445) and John Peebles (3072) and Jon Moses (2477).
A press note said that there were 143 informal votes and 17 blanks.
The voter turnout of 9.64%.
About Alastair Bell
Alastair Bell is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Director and a qualified member of the Project Management Institute. He is one of two Entrust trustees appointed to the Vector Board to represent the interests of Entrust.
Mr Bell has more than 30 years of experience in the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors, balancing his professional life between board roles and leading a consultancy that specialises in business and infrastructure projects.
His earlier assignments included Deputy Chair of Foundation North and Chair of its Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, Founding Chair of the Centre for Social Impact NZ Ltd.
He is currently Chairman of the Orakei Community Association and a Trustee of the Motutapu Restoration Trust and Parnell Heritage.
