South Auckland based Supreme Sikh Society of New Zealand has donated $1500 (including $7o from the Sikh community at the Sri Kalgidhar Sahib Gurdwara in Takanini) through a Hope N Help Charitable Trust initiative.
Officials of the Trust had also organised collection old mobile phone through donation boxes placed at ‘Indo Spice’ and ‘Saluja’s Food & Spices.’
The Trust was established in September 2009, following a Health Survey involving people of South Asian origin.
Among its various activities are promoting the right type of food, the importance of growing vegetables and the values of physical exercise.
