A community leader has appealed to New Zealanders in general and Muslims in particular to donate money during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Faiyaz Khan, President of Fatima Foundation, based in Otahuhu (7 Piki Thompson Way), South Auckland, said the money would be used to feed poor children and orphans in Fiji.
“The Foundation aims to strengthen the sacred institution of Family through education and by discharging social responsibilities. We work hard to create awareness about the poor people and help change their plight,” he said.
Mr Khan said that Ramadan was the ideal time to offer ‘Zakat,’ which is the duty of all Muslims.
“Donations can be made to our Bank account (Number 38–9009–0498934–00). We would also be happy to meet donors at their office or home,” he said.
He can be contacted on (09) 2767680 or on 021-2609104.
